Due to COVID-19’s notoriety to cause severe respiratory issues in older populations, Neonatal Rescue recently introduced the AdultLife™ Ventilator to the marketplace. An expansion upon their initial product, the NeoLife™ Ventilator (developed for newborns), this newer version is geared towards adult and pediatric patients.
Both devices rely on Smart Products USA’s check / pressure relief valves for accurate, reliable flow control. The NeoLife™ version (pictured above, right) uses the popular Series 300 Modular Valves, while the newer AdultLife™ Ventilator incorporates the cartridge Model #174. This custom-built solution is used as an emergency pressure relief valve to prevent excess pressure in the device in case of a malfunction or blockage of breathing tubes.
“We are using Smart Products’ valves because of the reliable lead time and because of the wide selection of materials and set pressures,” says Andy Armstrong with Neonatal Rescue.
Available to hospitals as a part of COVID-19 relief, the AdultLife™ Ventilator is a pressure-controlled, time-cycled ventilator. This medical application provides critical breathing support to patients experiencing acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), pneumonia, or other complications requiring respiratory assistance.
